TIME ! ! !

TIME - where does it all go???

I really thought I'd be blogging more than I have and creating more than I do but time just seems to be on fast forward at the moment.  Its June on Friday, where did April and May go???????

I really need to sort out my time management skills, I thought they were pretty good until now.

I stamped and coloured this image from Carolyn Shores Wright - Red Throated Hummingbird stamp, I used a corner punch and gem to give it some detail on the corner and matted the whole thing onto silver mirri card.  I printed out a sheet from the Embossibilities Elegance CD and cut into the design so that it overlapped my stamped image.  I finished the whole thing off with some gems on the curl.

Happy Crafting

There is no scarier moment than the blue screen of death on your PC.  A word to the wise blog fans backup backup backup.  Thankfully I did so didnt lose any vital files.  It takes minutes of your time and so much better than the heartache of losing your photos and files.

There has been a lot of talk about cross stitch lately, I think its making a come back.  As a cross stitch love who has not done much lately I decided to have a good ole dig around the drawer and see what was what.  I discovered several finished items ready for framing and several more kits that were half started and half finished!!!   Well rather than finish off one of the unfinished items I decided to start something new!!!!!!

I got out the cross stitch software and after several attempts was finally happy with converting a photo of my beautiful grandaughter Rachel into a chart.  I made a start last night with the threads I had available (have to get more as never seem to have the right colours!!!)  Will post regular updates so you can see it all coming together.

Happy Stitching

This card was made using my lovely hubbys CD On His Travels.  He loves to dabble with a paintbrush and I've had to relent and give him a little bit of my craft space to get creative !!!!!

I've used an A4 card folded in half then the front folded back on itself.  I covered the inside with one of the matching backing papers and the outside with the other backing paper.  I layered the decoupage on top of the base panel then using just one of the decoupage elements I highlighted the bridge area.  I finished the card off with a matching paper ribbon, bow and sentiment.

The trees and shrubs are certainly blossoming like crazy this month with the amount of delicious rain they have had to drink!!!!

This card has been designed from my Home Tweet Home CD which features pretty artwork combined with photographic baking papers, a text box and simple little flower complete the look.

I love movies that mix cartoon with reality so thought 'why not do the same with my designs'.  I love the effect it gives.

Merry Maymas!!!!

Its cold enough to be Christmas which is why I felt inspired to get creative.  I have just made my first Christmas Card of the year using a Humphreys Corner stamp and papers and elements from my NEW CD - Essential Elements - Christmas.

I started with a stampers panel and stamped my Humphrey directly onto it, coloured with Promarkers (Cool Grey 1 and Warm Grey 1 for Humpreys skin) then trimmed.  My base card is approx 8" x 8", I covered the base with green snowflake paper then a smaller panel of coffee swirly paper on top.  A red ribbon along the middle enhances the Humpreys duffle coat, a matching red bow and a green text box complete the picture.

Everything on this card except for the stamped image has been printed from the NEW CD.

The NEW CD will be available from Friday 11th May, its packed full of backing papers, ribbons, bows, text boxes and *new* stampier panels.  Everything you need for a happy stamping Christmas!!!!

I wonder if all Palace Guards are as cute as this one.  Hard to tell under their large furry hats (apparently called Busbys but I had to Google to find that out.

  • I used an 8" x 8" black card base scored to create and easel card.  I cut a large diamond (to symbolise the Diamond Jubilee) out of holographic card and layered the guard and his little hut on top.
  • The base is covered in backing paper with a strip of bunting and a thin strip of holographic card to act as a stopper for the easel.  I finished the card off with a sentiment in the corner.
Palace Guard is available as a Digital Download for only 75p which includes a full sheet of toppers and a matching backing paper.

Up here in the cold north (although its been a glorious day today) we are very well known for our humour and love of all things tartan and whisky related.  This design will be available as a Digital Download from 4th May

  • For this card I used a large 7" x 10" base card.  the backing paper I cut at 6.5" x 9.5" and layered onto a silver pearl card trimming to a small border.
  • I attached 3 strips of tartan ribbon and fed them all through a diamonte buckle, securing them at the bottom.
  • A 5" x 5" square with corners rounded and edged lightly with ink make a great base for the Scotsman and his Whisky.  I finished the card off with some funky buttons.

Where would we be without the internet, I for one would still be working in a BT call centre and I nearly ended up back there last week when my pc died after being infected with a horrible malware/scareware virus!  Four days it took for me to clear but thankfully patientience, tea and lots of chocolate got me through the worst of it.

I seem to be taking over more and more of the internet these days with Facebook, Blogs, Gallery, You Tube and now my second website!!!!

If you love digital downloads please take a peep and let me know what you think

I've got over 100 listed already and hundreds more ideas whirring around in my little brain!!!!!

Have a great weekend and may the sun try a little bit harder to shine.

A simple yet elegant card using a large foam stamp from QVC stamped with a sepia ink pad backed onto some mirri card and enhanced with 2 papers from the Embossibilities Texture Prints CD rom, I finished the card off with a simple cream flower and bow and a few wee gems to look like an earring.
